🎨 Fun with English: Nouns, Prepositions & Super Sentences! 🌟

Welcome back, young language explorers! Today, we are going to learn three super important building blocks of the English language: Nouns, Prepositions, and Sentences.

By the end of this page, you’ll be able to build your very own English sentences! Ready? Let's go! 🚀

1. 🧸 What is a Noun?

A noun is a word that names a person, place, animal, or thing. Look around you right now—almost everything you see is a noun!

  • 👤 Person: teacher, boy, girl, doctor, mom

  • 🏫 Place: park, school, zoo, house

  • 🐶 Animal: dog, cat, bird, elephant

  • 🍎 Thing: apple, book, ball, toy

💡 Fun Tip: If you can touch it, see it, or go there, it's probably a noun!

2. 🗺️ What is a Preposition?

A preposition is a small word that shows where something is! It connects nouns together so we know their location.

Here are 5 super common prepositions:

WordMeaningVisual Example 🎈
INInside somethingThe apple is in the box. 📦
ONTouching the top of somethingThe cat is on the mat. 🐱
UNDERBelow somethingThe ball is under the table. ⚽
NEXT TOBeside somethingThe dog is next to the bed. 🐶
BEHINDAt the back of somethingThe sun is behind the cloud. ☀️

3. 🧩 Building Super Sentences!

Now, let's put Nouns and Prepositions together to build complete Sentences!

A sentence tells a full thought. Always remember:

  1. Start with a Capital letter (A, B, C...).

  2. End with a Full stop / period ( . ).

Look at these examples:

  1. The cat (Noun) is on (Preposition) the chair (Noun). 🐱🪑

  2. The book (Noun) is in (Preposition) the bag (Noun). 📚🎒

  3. The shoes (Noun) are under (Preposition) the bed (Noun). 👟🛏️

  4. The monkey (Noun) is behind (Preposition) the tree (Noun). 🐒🌳
